From the days that are gone.

A collection of regionally specific objects,
books, furniture, and art gathered during
summer wanderings along the backroads
of the Pacific Northwest. Findings examines
the raw hardpan layers of humanity and
history that lies beneath the technotopian
clouds of the present.

Octagonal Chinoiserie Peacock
Tray with Brass Handles.

$ 275

There is a good chance you need an Octagonal Chinoiserie Peacock tray. This specimen was discovered in a small, dusty town in Eastern Washington. The color and shape of the tray indicate it could be (or inspired by) an English toleware tray, which were commonly crafted from painted metal, typically tin, with an octagonal shape and ornate brass handles. This style originated in 18th-century England during the Georgian period, inspired by the chinoiserie patterns that had begun to trickle in from trade with the Far East.
