Tumbleweed.

$50

This tumbleweed is most likely Russian thistle (Salsola tragus), an invasive species introduced from Eurasia in the late 19th century. It grows in dry, open soils common in eastern Washington, forming a bushy, rounded plant. As it matures, the plant dries and detaches from its roots, allowing wind to roll it across the landscape. While tumbling, it scatters seeds widely, ensuring the next generation takes root in open or disturbed soil. This classic rolling form, shaped by the region’s semi-arid climate and seasonal winds, has become an iconic symbol of the American West.
